Annual Timeline

Online Team Registration at opens: December
Statewide Kickoff: Early February
Regional Finals: Mid-April
Statewide Finals: Early May

Online registration for the annual SESL Challenge starts in December.

Upon registration, all teams receive an SESL Brainstorming Worksheet and a Judging Rubric.

In February, SESL College teams will participate in a Virtual Kickoff in which industry leaders will present a brief overview of their sector area as it relates to New Hampshire. Presenters will also share any ideas, challenges, and/or opportunities they see in their sector area. These presentations may be podcasts, video interviews, and/or PowerPoint presentations. Most of our Virtual Kickoff presenters are happy to answer any additional questions teams may have during the Challenge as they develop their project idea.

Teams then have ten weeks to propose a creative and realistic solution to a challenge they have identified.

Teams present their ideas in business plan format via a PowerPoint to panels of statewide judges at SESL’s Regional Finals in April and, for those teams that move on, at the SESL Statewide Finals in May.

SESL State finalists will receive award trophies and scholarship or startup funding and be exposed to entrepreneurs across the state during a celebration of entrepreneurship at the finals.
