SESL High School Challenge The Social Entrepreneurial Student Leadership Challenge is a business plan competition in which high school and college students (in separate contests) find creative, commercially sustainable ways to address social problems in our communities. SESL fosters collaborative endeavors and partnerships across disciplines, industry and communities, encouraging student teams to build community and in the process strengthen skill sets of the world's future social entrepreneurial leaders.
We are looking for 8th-12th grade teams from schools or organizations in NH, to join us in the fourth annual SESL Challenge, an experiential learning program that nurtures youth social entrepreneurs.
Working collaboratively with local businesses and civic leaders, teams of 5-8 students will identify an area of need or opportunity in the community. The project may be part of a class or may be a project teams work on outside of regular class time. Projects may fall into one of the SESL Challenge Sector Areas:
Economy, Environment, Education, Arts, Culture, and a Wildcard.
Through interviews with local businesses and community leaders, teams will investigate, develop, and present an initiative they feel will enhance and strengthen their community before a panel of judges at the SESL Regional Finals in April and, for those teams that move on, at the SESL Statewide Finals in May.
(Note: This challenge does not involve project implementation, only idea presentation.)
